Patch notes 2.2.3
We wish you abundance in Sanctuary, adventurer!
With fireworks setting the sky ablaze in celebration and loved ones in our company, we turn our attention to the new year before us—may it unravel to reveal happiness, luck, and fond memories for us to look back on. We wish you a happy Lunar New Year!
Due to the upcoming holiday, we will not be releasing a content update in 2 weeks and will instead release our next content update about 3 weeks from now. This update is a real firecracker, so without delay, let’s dig in!
As with previous Content Updates, there will be server maintenance starting on January 30, from 4 p.m.–6 p.m. PST for Oceania, China, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe Servers, and on January 31, from 12 a.m.–2 a.m. PST for servers in the Americas. After the maintenance has concluded, all items mentioned below will be live—specific dates for any content going live afterward are provided below.
Tong-Shi's Renewal Limited-Time Event
Tong-Shi—a god of the Xian pantheon—invites you to his Renewal, a call to bask in the fading glow of a finished year and begin the cycle anew, and welcome a new year with open arms and optimism.
From January 31, 3:00 a.m.–February 25 2:59 a.m. server time, players can complete up to five tasks a day to earn festive rewards, such as Red Bags and Tseym.
The 5 tasks to complete for rewards include: Dungeons, Elder Rifts, killing elite monsters, Bounties, and defeating Jingun (who becomes available to destroy on February 9). Completing these tasks earns you Red Bags and Tseym. There is no limit to the number of times you can complete these tasks for rewards, but there is a weekly limit for how many rewards you can earn, to a limit of 30 Red Bags and 100 Tseym each week that Tong-Shi's Renewal is active.
Red Bags are celebratory Tong-Shi’s Renewal rewards that can be gifted to a friend or to your Clan. Not only will you receive rewards when you open Red Bags sent to you, but you’ll also receive rewards for sending Red Bags. Spread the blessings of Tong-Shi’s Renewal by sending and receiving as many Red Bags as you can get your hands on! Don’t forget to claim a free Red Bag every day you log-in from the log-in rewards tab within the event, which will not contribute to your overall limit.
Completing daily event tasks can also yield Tseyms. Each time you contribute a Tseym, you’ll receiveve a random reward:
- Glowing Shards
Turning in numerous Tseym will combine multiple amounts of the same reward (Ex: Turn in 10 Tseym, you may receive 50 gold). Each Tysem turned in during the limited-time event contributes 500 Gold to Tong-Shi's Trove. Tong-Shi's Trove will grant double the Gold deposited if it’s claimed after February 17.
Players can also receive rewards such as the bound Legendary Crests and Spark Cask for logging in on the following days: February 2, February 3, February 6, February 9, February 10 February 14, February 17, February 21 and February 24.
Jingun, Eater of Mountains
From January 31–February 8, 3 a.m. local server time, band together with fellow Adventurers and hunt down the fabled terror Jingun, Eater of Mountains. While the hunt for Jingun is afoot, you can complete a daily task that transports you outside the world of Sanctuary to locate Signs of Jingun, which reward you with Gold, Scrap, and Dust.
Once Jingun has been found on February 8, you’ll be able to claim 3 Rare Crests and begin creating raids to fight Jingun. Your first vanquishing of Jingun grants 1 Telluric Pearl, and 1 random Legendary item.
Howler Hunt Limited-Time Event
A full moon rises, and the blades that were once at the throat of your enemies rest warily next to your foes. From January 31, 3 a.m.–February 14, 3 a.m. server time, in the Howler Hunt event, one of you shall betray the other this night, but strike falsely and your ranks thin. The bloodthirsty Howler has infiltrated a group of Adventurers—find it and kill it, before it kills you.
Available at Level 30 and above, you have been tasked with obtaining Sacred Energy from Sacred Wards and submitting it to the Altar of Purging, located at the center of the map.
During the Match, one of your companions will become The Howler. The Howler is tasked with sabotaging their former companions’ progress, using additional threats to their advantage to disrupt any progress made. Howlers can summon Undead Incursions and blighted Sacred Wards to cause chaos and sow the seeds of dissent from the shadows.
Embodying the night terror of The Howler presents unbridled advantages, but those that can master their lunar urges will reign supreme. Howlers can instantly slay their nearest ally, but this will reveal your true Howler form for several seconds. Subsequent kills create longer cooldown times, so feast on your companions wisely.
Once a slain adventurer's corpse is located, a vote will be called to execute the adventurer suspected of the foul deed.
Adventurers and the treacherous Howler win through different means. If all Howlers are executed successfully through a vote, the Adventurers succeed in their grim task. Similarly, if the Howlers manage to execute all Adventurers, the night is theirs. If the Sacred Energy bar reaches 100% completion, the Adventurers win. If all Sacred Wards are destroyed, the Howlers win.
Rewards are determined by how much you assist—or deter—your side’s victory. Collecting and turning in Sacred Energy, participating in voting your fellow Adventurers out, slaying Adventurers as the Howler and dealing with threats will contribute to your rewards.
Fear the full moon and the stalwart companion, for the crimson reflected in the moon may be your own blood.
Trial of the Hordes
You may be experienced, but emerging victorious from the Trial of the Hordes is the true mark of a champion. From February 2, 3 a.m.–February 9, 3 a.m. go head-to-head against another player while earning rewards and climbing your way through the event’s Ranks. Each player has an enclosed lane in which broods of demons will flood in waves—your goal is to cull the demons from Hell with steadfast dedication. All Clans on Deck
The armies of the Burning Hells are mustering their forces for a ploy, most assuredly of nefarious intent. You must rally your banner, adventurer—call upon your Clan for aid to beat back the tide of darkness! From February 3, 3 a.m.–February 10, 2:59 a.m. server time, Sanctuary will need All Clans on Deck. For more information about this event and its rewards, visit this article.

Feeling underfed, the moon demands sustenance, providing you with an upcoming opportunity to sate its seemingly endless appetite for blood!
The moonlit path you’ll take to heed your lunar overlord’s howl for sustenance is ready to be travelled. Players can complete up to three tasks a day between February 10, 3 a.m.–February 17, 3 a.m. server time. For more information about Hungering Moon, please visit this article.
An ancient fighting pit where the Fahiran aristocracy held brutal games has been uncovered in Shassar. Fight tooth and nail February 9, 3 a.m.–February 16, 3 a.m. server time during the Conqueror limited time PvP event to bring honor to your name and riches to your collection. For more information about this event, please visit this article.
Enlist your most trusted companions and outlast enemy teams in the Wild Brawl event. In this unique, limited time PVP event from February 16, 3 a.m.–February 23, 2024, 3 a.m. server time, players start at Level 1 and work together in teams of 6 to explore an expansive map and endure to become the last surviving team. Equip discovered gear, gain experience to strengthen your power, and slay everything in sight to win the battle. This arena style game mode ends when one team has outlasted the others to make their eternal mark on Sanctuary. For more information about Wild Brawl, please visit this article.
Yakin has once again come into possession of some liberated merchandise, likely plucked from a far-away excavation. His Shady Stock is in high demand and will be available to peruse from February 17, 3 a.m.–February 24, 3 a.m. server time, or until Westmarch’s guards raid his supply. For more information about Shady Stock, please visit this article.

Using Obols, players will purchase the ability to draw one item at random from the available item pool. There are 10 items total, and each can only be acquired once. This cosmetic set also boasts a tailored visual effect when you rack up a killstreak against Hell’s minions.
Obols can be purchased with Eternal Orbs, and any unspent Obols will be converted into Platinum once the Phantom Market event ends on February 28, at 2:59 a.m. server time. All players will receive enough Obols for a free first draw—these are automatically added to your account.
Because items from the Phantom Market are acquired randomly per draw, we want to provide players with the initial draw rates for each item to aid in deciding if they would like to engage with the event past their first free draw.
Note: The drop rates provided below are for the first draw only and will adjust to reflect the relative probabilities of the remaining items in the Phantom Market item pool.

Players can also earn additional rewards on draws 2, 4, 7, and 9:

- 11 Legendary Crests

Mirrored Jewels Elder Rift Enhancement

For just that run, every Legendary Gem you receive as a reward will be accompanied by an additional random Legendary Gem of the same type and random quality. The probability of receiving Legendary Gems from Elder Rifts remains the same and we encourage players to activate Mirrored Jewels on runs using 10 Legendary Crests so they can maximize their chances.
Previously, Familiars were not picking up items or following players in a timely manner. With this update, Familiars have had their movement speed adjusted to speed up when further away from the player, and to slow down as they approach the player. Pickup speed for item drops has also been increased, which is aimed to reduce player inconvenience when trying to pick up dropped items that have been marked by the Familiar for pickup.
Additionally, you can now decide how confrontational your Familiar will be with Sanctuary’s demonic hordes using the new Attack and Defend modes. Attack sets your Familiar to proactively seek enemies to engage, while Defend sets your Familiar to only engage enemies that have first attacked you.
Lastly, Familiar Stones have been further optimized, making them more effective in keeping the best Skills and Attributes on your Familiar.
When Melding two Familiars together, automatic recommendations will be shown to the player on a summary screen. The recommendation can either be accepted, or players can click or tap the edit button to manually tune their selections. Once the player has confirmed they are comfortable with either of these methods, the finalized Familiar will be shown, and the Meld will have been completed.
Familiars and Wynton’s Grand Market
After listing a Familiar in Wynton’s Grand Market, it will take a few hours before the listing appears to other players.
You can now see the details of another player’s Familiar by clicking or tapping on that player, navigating to their Details menu, and selecting the Familiars slot displayed in their layout.
Thirteen new Bounties have been added for the Ancients’ Cradle zone. Set out to rid Sanctuary of these vile threats and earn rewards.
PC Text Chat
A suite of quality-of-life- improvements have been made to make text chat on PC more intuitive.
- Chat Box text can now be selected with your mouse or keyboard shortcuts.
- Copying, cutting, and pasting text is now supported.
- Pressing the Tab button while in the Chat Box will now move forward through the list of available chat channels. Shift + Tab will now move backwards through the list of chat channels.
- Shift + R can be used to respond to your latest Whisper.

Region-Specific Game Additions
Below you will find region-specific updates coming with this content update to the version of Diablo Immortal available in China.
Familiar Password Lock
Players can now protect their Familiar from being accidentally Converted, Melded, or Renewed with a new password system. Currently, we have no plans to bring this feature to all other regions.
Survivor’s Bane Updates
- Rewards will now be based upon kill count instead of combat duration.
- A variety of Skills have been strengthened.
- In Endless Mode, players will see a menu option roughly every 12, 17, 22, and 27 minutes that gives them the option to exit and claim their rewards or to continue playing; if they continue, the enemies will be stronger.
We plan to bring these changes to all other regions in a future content update. Once we have more information, we’ll be sure to let you know.
